Aston Martin’s Most Ambitious Car Yet

”Well Christmas is almost over, and I have returned to my usual schedule of posting for my awesome readers, I hope you all had a great Christmas, I know I did, my girlfriend said yes when I proposed! so I am in a fantastic mood as you can imagine.

Anyway back to the topic in hand, I dug this out the back of the Internet today and it made me ask the question, Aston Martin……what the hell are you doing!? yes this is by all accounts an Aston Martin.

Apparently this is there newest concept car named the ‘Cygnet’ and is based on the Toyota ‘IQ’ city car. I have no idea why Aston Martin would do something like this, but I can understand ‘why’ they might want to give it a try. The small compact city car is big money if you do it right, just look at how popular the Peugeot 206 was, and the more recent re invented Mini, both were hugely successful and made an impact on the way we drive, but I still cant help but think Aston should stick to what they know which is highly powered and utterly sexy sports cars.

It looks like the car could go into production some time in 2010, but Aston are keeping very quiet about it, hence why I have no info on engine size, bhp, performance etc, but I think it is reasonable to say it won’t be anything like a DB9 or Rapide. One thing I do like about the car is it’s interior. It does look very well made, as it should do coming from Aston’s factory, it’s luscious red and black stitched leather makes the inside very appealing to the eye.

I don’t really know what to expect from this, I think it will either do exceptionally well, or will be a complete disaster, and no where inbetween. At first looks I am not too keen, but hey when I can see it in action maybe I will change my mind.

What do you think? should Aston stick to what there good at?”

well, I guess and hope this is really a joke, the DB 9 is my dreamcar but, this little car definetly has nothing to do with a sportcar tradition.

Precisely, It will also make the Aston Martin more commercialised rather than the unique expensive luxury car that we all know and love, my favourite Aston has to be a vanquish but I see what you mean about the DB9 it is pretty sexy.
