Primus Has Retired From Football
”Portsmouth defender Linvoy Primus has confirmed he will be retiring from professional football after failing to recover from a knee injury.
Linvoy has been out of the picture for quite a while though, he had an operation in 2006 and has only made 1 appearance for Pompey since then, so it is was inevitable.
He is 36 years old now so is pushing towards retirement anyway, and the fact he has never fully recovered from his injury made him make the conscious decision to bow out for good.
This is what he said on the clubs official site:
”I had a knee operation a couple of months ago and it was made clear to me that if I did try to continue I would do long-term damage, I would rather have a good knee for the rest of my life than to try to play on and make the knee worse. I’ve got to think of the long term rather than the short term.”
It is a shame to see him go, he made 219 appearances for Pompey and will be missed, but I believe that he has made the right choice, what do you think?”
