What Ever Happened To The Good Honest Fight?

”If you are of the same generation as me and was born in the early 80’s and went to school in the 90’s you will remember the good old school scrap, you pissed some kid off for kicking a football at his face and you would end up on the floor grappling and pulling each others hair, nose, ears or whatever you could get hold of. The fight normally lasted about 30 seconds and both of you went your separate ways swearing and muttering under your breath, and that was the end of it.

Even when I left school and started college in the late 90’s, fighting was still pretty much the same albeit for different reasons, I remember getting into a fight at college because I was being hyper and ran into some guy and knocked him to the floor, it was my fault and we both went at each other for about a minute, laughed and went off.

The days of the good old fight seem to have all but gone, I see kids with knives and broken bottles, hurling abuse at each other and forming gangs. I was walking through the park the other day and I saw 5-8 lads of about 8 years old throwing huge stones at 1 lad on his own, he tried to run away but they chased him down, 2 of them brandishing golf clubs! of course I intervened and sent the little fuckers on there merry way. The lad was unhurt but his ego was damaged and he said thanks and ran home.

With knife crime on the increase, guns are becoming easier to get hold of and the gang culture to me is a recipe for disaster. You have parents that cant be arsed to discipline there kids and teach them respect, and school teachers are afraid to tell pupils off for misbehaving for fear of being stabbed. Kids need to have scraps, a punch up and a bit of rough and tumble is part of being a kid but now it’s gone way too far.

Even adults have become more aggressive, the classic bar fight is no more, you even here about people being murdered over a spilt pint! outrageous. We need to get back to the good old days when men were men, Britain was a united country, we respected our fellow neighbour and fighting didn’t mean you forfeited your life or being paralysed from the waste down because you took a shiv to the neck. Kids…..stay the fuck away from knives it’s not worth it.
