5 Manly Gadgets To Look Out For In 2010
”I am looking forward to 2010 as far as technology is concerned, there is alot happening in silicon valley, the specky techies are pushing the limits of technological science to the limit this year. Here is a list of 5 gadgets to keep an eye out for this year.
1. Project Natal
This is Microsoft’s intelligent motion camera dubbed ‘natal’ that is due for release this November. It is on the outside a motion camera, on the inside however it is so much more than that, it will bury Sony’s rubbish ‘eye camera’ and is rumoured to cost less than £50. I have covered this in 2 posts, have a look at them for more in depth coverage. (picture from juanpol)

2. Google Phone
This is google’s new iphone killer. Made by Taiwanese phone giant HTC, the google phone is sleek, stylish, and packed full of features. It is powered by the awesome ‘android 2.1′ operating system, it has a tiny little trackball mouse making web browsing so much easier than the iphone. The phone also has 2 microphones either side of the handset which google says cancels out background noise meaning clearer calls in busy, noisy areas. The phone has the potential to beat apple’s mighty iphone and bring something new and fresh to the table, nice one google. (picture from gadgetvenue.com)
3. HP Slate
Big technology companies are really trying to outsmart each other this year, what with google’s iphone rival and now HP’s ’slate’ which is set to rival apples tablet. The slate operates windows 7, Microsoft’s vista successor, the details are a bit shady but one thing I can promise you is that it will be incredible, the hype surrounding this small and elegant home computer/multimedia device is warranted, and It will cause a vicious battle between HP and Apple to dominate the market, my money is on HP. 4. Optimus Tactus Keyboard
This is not any old run of the mill keyboard, for starters it has no physical keys, everything is touch screen which means you can make it completely customisable and program the functions to do what the hell you want. You can play movies on it, and even have a giant clock programmed into the interface!, This is the successor to the Maximus keyboard they released, and what an improvement it is. I know I will be getting one, it’s one of those gadgets that is geeky but superbly cool at the same time. (picture from itechnews.net)
5. 3D Televisions
2009 saw major advancements in 3D technology, sparking many film makers to produce outstanding films in 3D such as Coraline, Final Destination, and more recently the fantastic Avatar. Sky have started selling there new 3D service that requires a ‘3D ready’ TV, so the consumer interest is definitely there. 3D televisions will start appearing this year, and although they will be immediately expensive just think of how nice it would be to see Beyonce’s latest music video and watching her bum jiggle up and down in 3D! Sold it for me! (picture from trustedreviews.com)
